8 Reasons Why the Proven System Sucks

When you went to the network marketing meeting, did that heavy hitter tell you to just follow the “proven system”? Did he then explain how you just need to build yourself a “warm list” (limited personal contact list), buy extra product to “place” with prospects, attend and bring friends to hotel meetings, give home parties, get some business cards to hand out,buy company literature, and get flyers made to hand out at the mall?

If these are the components of the “proven system”, or business plan, it is a broken down, oil leaking, rusty system made up of outdated methods and faulty techniques that have caused the terrible numbers of a 97% failure rate in this industry. What is even worse is, aside from being ineffective; it can actually kill your chances of success and ruin your personal relationships.

The only thing this “proven plan” does aside from running your friends away is cause a huge percentage of people to hate the industry as a whole. This is a terrible shame too because the whole concept of cutting out the middleman in retail is logical and it is a morally correct and inherently good business as proven by what it takes to become an income leader.

Helping others find success is the only way to make any real money and those who help the most people are the real leaders. These 8 reasons are referring to the methods taught by most of the MLM companies out there and they do work but only for a small percentage of people.

1. Most companies lie to their prospects about the fact that network marketing is SALES.

2. There is no proper marketing training given to any of the new distributors and in fact the methods taught are mostly ineffective.

3. Most companies teach methods that resemble and are as annoying as door to door sales, cold calling like a telemarketer, and street corner watch salesmen that are a lot like trying to cram your opportunity down the throat of everyone you come in contact with.

4. The “anyone can do this” idea is like throwing mud against the wall to see what sticks and is largely responsible for the 97% failure rate and the negative reputation of the industry.

5. Since the sales methods don’t work for everyone, desperate people will resort to hype and exaggeration to trick prospects into signing up.

6. Too many sponsors use the “need more motivation” or belief excuse for failure instead of concentrating on solid, fundamental, proper marketing techniques.

7. New prospects are assured by the sponsor they will be successful just because the product is so good and the comp plan is the best so it will be easy to build a business in a few weeks.

8. New prospects are told to offer everyone they know or meet their opportunity and that causes them to pester everyone within three feet of them and this has caused many people to hate the whole industry.

Anyone who has any experience in marketing would never talk to someone who has not shown an interest in the product or opportunity not to mention those who already think badly about the industry. One important key to marketing is to generate your own leads using marketing techniques which allow people who are interested to find you instead you trying to find them.

Think about it! If you are chasing folks about your opportunity you are considered a nuisance. But if those who are looking, do their search, and find you because you were positioned correctly, now you are seen as an expert or leader. People don’t like to be “sold” to because they don’t want to feel as if something is being forced on them.

Recruiting with those old school methods are cumbersome and when you tell your sponsor it isn’t working like you thought and they say you need to listen to some motivational CD’s they are really telling you to just do more of what isn’t working. Do you really think that will help?

It would be like having the absolute best tasting hamburgers ever but everyone you can find has just left an endless buffet table. If no one is hungry you will not be able to sell any of them. You need a plan that will put you in position where those that are interested can find you and an automatic system that will weed out the tire kickers and consistently supply you with interested prospects so your time will be productive.
